The fact is that the core Founders were Freemasons, and that large parts of our Constitution are taken verbatim from the Freemasons' Book of Constitutions. They were the political 'free thinkers' of the day and set up the U.S. to favor their own. Not necessarily based on high principles or morals.

To paraphrase Teddy Roosevelt, patriotism isn't about supporting the president. It's about supporting your country even when that means fighting against the president. MAGA would probably say that's what they do during Democratic administrations, but it's still true.

Many of them were slave owners and had no inclination at all to give that up. They kept human beings enslaved. That's tyranny and it was seen as wrong by many in the colonies already back then. I don't want to spoil the moment, but they wanted themselves to be free of the British, not to free all.

Meanwhile, Americans can't be bothered to go out to a protest because it's inconvenient - and can't be bothered to vote because they don't think State and Local offices are important.
