Remember in November to vote out every member of the US Congress who has not defended the U.S. Constitution this year and indeed since the crimes before, during and after January 6, 2021 . Adam, you were in Congress. You know how this works. The Senate Dems got real concessions on ICE funding, oversight, and training provisions in this bill. These folks are in tight districts - Golden won by a couple thousand votes. Leadership didn't want to risk these seats to "open borders" ads.

D's were hearing a great deal from their constituents, as Leader Jeffries reminded the caucus earlier. (Not all constituents think alike, and most of the 7 Yea's are in tippy districts.) FWIW, the measure passes even if all D's vote Nay. Speaker Mike had 4 more R's available but Not Voting.

Or they did hear from their constituents. All of thse folks are in swing districts and won by narrow margins. They were allowed to vote yes because in thier districts a no vote could be one less Democrat in congress next year.
