I think Congress needs to subside on what the lowest paid person in their district makes.

Congressional pay is required by Constitution. If all branches follow the Constitution we will be in a much better place.

They make more in a month than I do in a year of SS. I get about $17,000 before they take out Medicare part B and D. I also have to make medical and prescription co pays. Around $14,000 before co pays. Property taxes, utilities, food if I have money left. I qualified for $18.00 in SNAP benefits!

The constitution says their compensation shall not be diminished during their term. It doesn’t say how often they get paid though. Suspended their pay until the government reopens and hold back pay until all appropriations bills are passed.
