To clearly state my goals atm, I want: - CRA fixed, so beginners don't hit errors - CRA clearly deprecated (docs and CLI), and pointing to "do X instead" - A clear recommended alternative to CRA, plus migration paths off existing CRA _and_: - Docs listing "SPA" as valid and Vite as recommended

I'd hope we can all agree on the first two, no questions, and there's already PRs to fix those right now: github.com/facebook/cre... listing Vite in the docs "Start a Project" page covers both "CRA equivalent" and "how much of the ecosystem uses React". this shouldn't be controversial, but 🤷‍♂️

I updated this "Umbrella: Fix CRA" post with my suggestion for what an appropriate "Use Vite for SPAs and learning" recommendation should be in the React docs: github.com/facebook/cre... roughly: "if you're learning or just need client apps, use Vite. Here's the React / TanStack Router templates"

Thank you very much for writing and proposing this suggestion. Hope, the React team will add it in some way to the docs 🙏 (Almost all of my clients and workshop attendees are already building or want to build SPAs)

The benevolence you’ve displayed through this process is commendable. Just on its face. But also as a Redux core maintainer you’re obviously putting the community’s needs first despite your affiliation. I think many people are sitting this one out due to such reasons. Bravo, Mark

hah, what do you mean "_despite_ my affiliation"? Sure, some aspects of React's development have narrowed reasons to use Redux (Context, Compiler, useReducer, etc). But I'm still very much a member of the React community myself. Lot of overlap in that Venn diagram, not exclusivity :)

nothing in that ticket is controversial. 👍 the only controversial thing is that the community needs to step in and explain this. really? 🤷‍♂️ has to make you wonder if they're completely out of touch with their own community. 🤔🙄😔
