It's been a while. I wish I were back with a new project, but I have to share something difficult. I have pancreatic cancer. Tomorrow at 5:30am I have surgery, then six months of chemo. I'm scared and hopeful, and I needed to share where I am and where I'm headed. buff.ly/9o8qcxv #100Devs

You are very loved - this post keeps coming across my feeds. I found the post-diagnosis, pre-surgery stage to be the most terrifying. Since you mention seeking support, I found Immerman Angels very helpful when I was trying to find any stories about cancer journeys similar to mine.

I felt the same things you mention in your post. The 1st thing I cried about was how sad everyone was going to be around me for the foreseeable future. Waiting for surgery was agonizing. But day by day, you get through it. It gets a little bit less scary. Your village figures out what you need.
