There is a reason "I am vegan" was a thing, and it is not endearing. Hopefully the anti-AI movement figures this out before the fraction that is unbearable further poisons good will in "neutral" spaces. Btw, doubling down and accusing communities spelling this out as meat-lovers also didn't help.

If you want to self-sabotage your custom payment app, make registration in-store with cashier confirmation: 60% will just dismiss without even asking 30% will argue that registration works differently, even when prompted by the register 10% will confirm, but your bank may reject the attempt

For better effect, do not explain this system to your employees, so they have to guess at it during busy hours. If you have multiple card terminals deployed, make sure to not tell anyone which ones do not support this registration, so that cashier and customer can bond over their shared confusion.

Wow, they realized it was bad and replaced the entire process with an online one. Nice to see companies actually improving things.

Despite having been quite anxious for the release of #MinaTheHollower, I have apparently chosen to spend far more time this week building an asset viewer, than actually playing the game... figures. I have some more things planned for this, but you can poke at the game right now: mina.valentine.zip

Just got out of #IronLung, and am quite confused about the ending. We sort of got a resolution, but it felt a bit disconnected in what exactly played out. Maybe that's intended in an eldritch horror sort of way. The acting and camera work was great, it played a lot with the space. Would watch again!

Note to self, actually set up the #pds wildcard subdomain *and* the nginx websocket handling *before* migrating servers or setting up the domain handle. Otherwise you end up in "jwt signature does not match jwt issuer" hell, where some stuff works, but the actual appview doesn't.

If this happens to you, you might want to try removing and re-adding the domain. Thanks, random skipped test, for letting me know: > @TODO [signing key] invalidations do not originate from appview frontends: requires identity event on the repo stream github.com/bluesky-soci...

Why oh why do iPads not come with a self-sufficient recovery mode, that’s let’s you reset them without a Mac? I’m currently in the process of recovering the third gifted iPad that randomly? got stuck mid transfer. Sure gives the impression of being a PC replacement if it does not even pass setup.

If your user manual says "Pry open at the marked spots with a screwdriver, continue upwards.", you have utterly failed if the user still cannot open the device after 30m. Especially if they end up with a scratched rattle full of plastic chips. Just tell me about the clips so I don't waste my money.

Trying to open a Mikrotik router btw. Soo, credit where credit is due: The design seems good aside from that, the plastic I broke wasn't part of the clips, it still seals again despite my abuse. And there is a wall and clearance between the electronics and clips, so it's hard to damage like that.

Couldn't even finish the first act of Silksong before throwing it into the backlog. :/ Spent more than half of my last three hours just getting back to where I messed up some fight or platforming, usually by messing up some already cleared part. (Hollow Knight is in there for the same reason)

Ah, nothing like spending a few hours recovering your project from the grips of a young VCS with a corrupted repo. A meta VCS (or more regular backups) would have totally saved me, but that already was the meta one. The base, Git, saved me instead.

👋 Hello to the 260+ self-hosters that have joined the network over the last week! (Notice how nothing has changed about the in-app experience? 😎) Developers, in case you missed it, we enabled federation for self-hosters last week. Read this guide to learn how to set up your own server!
