Thanks for the friendly team at Wells Hollow Farm for showing me around during the last day of my walk across the state. They sell tons of locally produced fruit and vegetables. And an ice cream shop next door! Check it out!

Democracy only works when people participate. My book, Organizing to Win, is available on hardcopy, paperback, ebook, and the audiobook is now everywhere you get podcasts.

Today, I’m releasing the audio version of my book, Organizing to Win. Since the book is written in a conversational style, I thought the podcast format was the right approach as I narrate my book to you. Organizing to Win the audiobook is available everywhere you listen to podcasts!

As America celebrates 250 years, let’s be reminded we are in a citizen government and we need you to participate now more than ever. Summer reading — and listening — commence…

In Connecticut, our Democratic lawmakers added $172 million in additional education funding and $100 in municipal aid. This is on top of making school breakfast free to every student, and investing $300 million in the Early Childhood Endowment Fund, putting us on track for universal childcare.

THE REVIEWS ARE IN 📖 “The book offers a roadmap for turning concern and angst into action. Tickey makes participation in democracy feel not only possible, but promising.” “Its style is unique, written as a how-to in a conversational style, making for a pleasant — and at times very funny — read.”

“From messaging and fundraising to voter outreach and leadership development, this book equips readers with the tools and confidence to step into civic life.” “Organizing to Win is a valuable guide for candidates, staff, and volunteers alike.” Learn more and get the book: www.OrganizingtoWin.com

Since then, it’s been a rising best selling elections book, taught in classrooms, and people have passed the book onto someone who they think should get involved. Just yesterday, someone shared with me they got the book, followed its lessons, and won a Board of Education seat in New England!

After 2 years since the idea, and 2 months of book conversations, our Connecticut book tour is a wrap. Thank you for joining me for such thoughtful conversations. The American story has been written by the people who show up and organize — my book teaches how to do just that.

I’ve been having conversations, and to see the interest from people who want to get involved has been heartening. For candidates, volunteers, and those who feel like an outsider to politics, my book answers the question: If democracy is worth fighting for, then doesn’t it start with each of us?

If you have an idea, go for it. And if you want to understand the behind the scenes of campaigns, I have just the book for you. Organizing to Win is available everywhere books are sold.

Two years ago today, I woke up and had an idea over a cup of coffee. What if there was a book — not a personal memoir and more than a campaign manual — that taught people who were genuinely interested in getting involved in the political arena?

That question took me down a path of reflecting, researching, writing, and releasing with a publisher Organizing to Win. I’m grateful for the response from people I may never meet across the country who are getting the book because they have an interest in saving our democracy.

Thank you for your support of Organizing to Win: The Art & Science of Running for Office. We celebrated its release today with a conversation moderated by WFSB’s Kara Sundlun, and I’m so grateful for the response to the book.

Not a memoir and more than a campaign manual, Organizing to Win is a blueprint for a healthier democracy — one engaged citizen at a time. From the volunteers, activists, staffers, to candidates, party leaders, and those who feel like an outsider to politics, this book is for you.

Two years ago I had an idea... what if there was a book that teaches authentic voices to enter the political arena? Working with a publisher, I researched, wrote, edited, designed, published, and now personally signed copies of my book, Organizing to Win. The books are now here, and all signed!

My new book focuses on organizing and running for office in your community, but in exactly two years we will be in the middle of a Presidential nominating contest. The national polling has already begun! Who’s your pick? #2028presidentialcontest

The Winter DNC Meeting was a meaningful exchange of ideas, sharing best practices of how Democrats swept this year, and a reminder of the hard work we have ahead of us in 2026. As an At-Large Member, I am encouraged about the path ahead!

Organizing to Win is more than a how-to book, it’s a blue-print for public service. My new book is about finding your purpose, unlocking your potential, and harnessing your power to make life better for people. I’ll be by your side as you enter and advance in the political arena.
