I built myself a simple web analytics dashboard to keep a basic track of unique visitors to my website/various app landing pages. But opening Safari and navigating to it quickly became annoying - I wanted to have the stats glanceable on my home screen. (1/4) #buildInPublic #dev #swift #iOS #widget

My first thought was that surely something like Widgetsmith can do this for me, if I tweaked my server logic to generate a JSON with the data as well. It couldn't. So I was about to make myself a "bespoke" app (installed from Xcode directly) tailored to this data. (2/4)

But then I thought of different APIs and data I could have on my home screen (like my home temperature sensors) and felt a bespoke app didn't make sense anymore. There needed to be a way to handle any data from any source! (3/4)
