What, exactly, do Republicans believe the government is *supposed* to do? It appears they believe that it should either do nothing (at what point do they become anarchists/nihilists?), punish out-group members, or facilitate billionaire and corporate slush funds.

They literally think that roads and a military are the only things that should be provided, and that corporations should just get to do whatever the fuck they want and if people wanna stop them, they can sue them. That’s it, that’s the grand plan. Yay for the people.

I'm guessing the real headline is: Car manufacturer corporate donors buy dangerous safety changes from most corrupt government in history. Just like like many others this year.

Someone should help them turn the alarm off if they don't have kids. Took me a few minutes. And they should probably stop tailgating if auto-braking is something they're annoyed with. Their incompetence with tech shouldn't be the foundation of public safety regulation.

If the government allows you to toggle the setting, that seems like a car manufacturer problem instead of a regulatory problem. I would love a more intuitive interface with simple toggles for stuff like this. But you generally have to struggle through youtube videos showing you how to do it.

A farmer sadly plows a field of ripe corn into the ground to destroy it for the sake of vehicle safety mandates, a single tear rolling down his cheek. If only some brave senator would make food affordable by repealing the regulations...

Can anyone afford to lose their lives or those of their children? And while were at it...Trump gutted EPA that is rolling back other protections that have saved millions of lives. He is a immoral menace just like the Murdoch family that owns WSJ.

The US really excels at per capita road deaths. Other developed nations have steadily reduced road deaths in the past five decades but the US is managing to increase deaths year on year. Be proud.
