I love coyotes, while acknowledging that realistic anthro coyotes would live on isolated compounds in the Mountain West, accumulating derelict machinery and taking potshots at linemen and Amazon drivers who wander too close from an arsenal with a half-dozen calibers and zero serial numbers :P

What's your favorite thing about rural Oregon? Tangential question, but why fo you love coyotes so much? Aside the fact that they're cute as hell lol

“Rural Oregon” encompasses a vast range of beautiful landscapes from the Siuslaw/Umpqua/Rogue forests that I refuse to enter because of sasquatches, to the snowcapped Cascades, to the windswept high deserts out towards the Malheur and Owyhee, to the hemiboreal northeastern corner, and that’s great.

Coyotes are fun to watch because they appear to have a good time making noise and playing with things. I also love how, while coyote families are territorial and standoffish to others, mated coyote pairs really do seem devoted and to truly enjoy just spending time with each other.
