In current job listings, Rilla explicitly states that workers are expected to log more than 70 hours a week, warning them not to join if they aren’t “excited” about the schedule. Three meals are provided at the office every day—even on Saturdays.

I did this throughout the 1990's and believe me, no amount of world changing technology is worth missing reading to your toddlers when they go to bed. I missed way way too much of life. Utter bullshit for a bullshit society. Revisit Steve Jobs late in life commencement speech recognizing same.

You would think “tech” companies would know the actual science behind work schedules and know they are paying people to be around 90% ineffective for 70%+ of that time. It’s fucking stupid. Starting with good sleep 2 9-9 shifts make you a near zombie, let alone a week of them.

If that's the starting point for your "service"...I don't even want to think about how much more they will abuse their workers. If you sign up for this...you gave this company permission to use and abuse you as well as mine your mind. Just Say No.

When I worked at a Fortune 100 in the eighties, I often worked like that and no one gave me free food. All I got was migraine headaches and emails pulled from the shared printer when I was working alone at night that proved my boss was having an affair with one of our "consultants."

"The truth is, China’s really doing ‘007’ now—midnight to midnight, seven days a week, and they just have a rotational workforce,” Why do tech bros think they invented everything? That's literally called shift work and has existed for ages.

Increase in exploitation despite continuous increases in outputs in a context of plenitude and abuse of natural resources and of the environment in a society of consumption, is just unforgivable. Nothing can justify this other than rich people abusing the population to get richer.

I had my own company before COVID. Once the state closed down, my business went away & that taught me that everything & everyone is replaceable in the business world. Therefore, work should be a way to pay your bills & use your skills, but life should be lived elsewhere.

Wow. “The most fulfilling thing in the world.” This is the Rilla job posting for the role I currently have. Same amount of money, but 72 hours a week instead of 40. Gee, sign me up? I mean, they provide snacks!
