Americans are pissed the fuck off about Flock not just bc the CEO is a lying shitbag and the product is spyware Flock literally broke the brains of law enforcement around the country. opioid settlement cash. AYFKM bsky.app/profile/pegg...

oh looky, disgraced Texas mafia that just kicked millions off the voter rolls also gave #Flock a reacharound via car insurance you’ll have to forgive me for making comparisons to Ronald DeSantis’ fund-diversion scandal in Florida www.sacurrent.com/news/texas-n... bsky.app/profile/defl...

if I were a resident of Santa Clarita trust and believe I'd go do a bunch of MOTS (Man on the Street) video interviews asking voters their thoughts on **100% Repub** city council jamming through yet another #Flock contract ain't nothing "conservative" about spyware bsky.app/profile/ther...

Council member Jason Gibbs approved the $500,000 contract (I think the whole council did) but he is also currently running for US House seat CA-27 as a Republican.

since I'm all about solutions, have a look at this visual database from @ij.org tracking which cities pulled the plug on surveillance dickhead mafia keep demanding reps cancel and your handiwork could show up here! 🧢 @am-mccarthy.bsky.social @awkword.bsky.social bsky.app/profile/awkw...

Communities across the country have been fighting Flock and other ALPR spy camera companies. A new project allows you to track which towns and cities have canceled their contracts ij.org/institute-fo... @ij.org

opposing Flock is obviously smart. next I'd like to see @jamestalarico.bsky.social attack Abbott over his role in creating Flock's $30M slush fund dude pretends to be anti but he *personally appointed* the majority of Motor Vehicle board #oops 🧢 @phranklindb.bsky.social bsky.app/profile/jame...

Flock cameras have no place in Texas. They can piece together an exact map of your behavior — the places you went and how long you were there. Flock calls this “pattern-of-life” mapping. Texans call it something else: government overreach.

Thanks Will, the video suggestion is a really good one and I think Gibbs knows it's a losing issue for him. It raises a really interesting question to which I don't know the answer. CA-27 has a huge LE population. I haven't seen much wrt how LE view flock when they're the ones being watched.

My guess is their views vary depending upon the context in which they're asked. I have seen the same sort of scare mongering as the video above combined with false claims the LASD was defunded. The Gibbs campaign depends on not publicly stating his position on many issues. That's unacceptable.
