My dog is large enough that he sets off the seatbelt buzzer, so I hooked up the seatbelt. He promptly jumped in and put himself in it!

Not safe at all compared to a crate!

My dogs have access to window views. My oldest is in a less safe crate because she is claustrophobic. However, if I drove in high traffic areas, I would rethink that decision. Also, once they are used to crates, they feel very odd riding loose.

If the car crashes, the belt will kill this pup. Erm, I wanted to say, haha, funny picture!

This is what I do too. She has an extra leash in the glove box too just in case. I purchased a back seat cover that evens out the seat so she can nap and have her “hello kitty” pillow ( not even kidding) We regularly have an 8 hour drive,Just plot out waysides and have a few snacks along the way
