AI Controls (formally 'kill switch') are landing in today's Firefox Nightly, and will land with Firefox 148 later this month.

That's awesome, but honestly that feature should have landed months ago. It's sad that it took so long to deliver such a 'simple' feature — it eroded trust needlessly :( Also, is that 'scare screen' really necessary? It's the same kind of trick we're always complaining about with FAANG products…

There are some features there that some folks might not expect to be part of the 'block', such as translation, so I think an "are you sure" screen is reasonable in this case.

Well, I disagree: it's a good practice *not* to ask for a confirmation if something is not destructive and can be undone easily. This information could be presented clearly on the same screen that offer the switch :)

You "forgot" to ask before doing so in the first place. It wouldn't have been an issue if you'd not started without consent.

Wait, what do you mean? Which flow are you seeing in Firefox that results in AI usage without consent?
