Hey, there are some intriguing elements here! Some questions/thoughts: 1. Living body armor is the sign of privilege in this world? Ok cool, but is it passed down? Something only a certain echelon of society can access? If it's not something Kal would have access to, is it best to start there?

2. Why would she be asked to improve the lives of those like her? What sets her apart from them? 3. What is the rulers' kindness? And what's the reason? I want more specifics here to know why Kal would ally with someone she presumably hates? 4. "everyone she loves" -- is there anyone specific?
