The recording of my talk, Newly Acquired Powers of the Web Platform, which I presented at @dddperth.bsky.social earlier this month is now live on YouTube. It is all about great features in HTML and CSS that have reached or are reaching the web. www.youtube.com/watch?v=NsnG... #DDDPerth

My YouTube recommendations have taken to routinely showing me this video, jump scaring me with my own bald mug.

I tend to avoid showcasing my meat avatar too frequently as AI-wielding cyber miscreants have been unsavoury in the past. There is no other option if one wishes to speak, though. To keep consistent, I think I need to be bald for appearances in the flesh and long-haired for appearances online.

the traditional method is to have a two-decade old avatar compared to real life.

Kilian, two decades ago I was mere months old. I'm not sure a baby picture is an optimal semi-'professional' avatar.
