In the south, it’s just the opposite. The challenge? Getting seeds to thrive in August to plant in the garden in September. So hot!

In NC and planting our cool season gardens. Early Spring no longer works for us due to excessive heat hitting us in March now. So switched to Fall plantings but today the temps are in the 90’s!

Yeah, that's rough. Heat in the 90s during fall planting season is basically the worst timing. The seeds just sit there sulking instead of germinating. Have you had luck waiting it out a bit longer, or does your window narrow down that much by late September/October?

I waited out the heat last year and then we got the slammed with below average temperatures for NC. Was a horticulturist and landscape contractor for 40 years and am so glad I’m not trying to cope with this crazy climate along with anxious clients.
