And yet it runs…

I was just reading this.

There’s something funny about how "this works this way because someone in 60s/70s thought it was right/cool, or because it was supposed to be a temporary fix" can somehow turn into the universal standard that an entire branch of software engineering is built around.

For me it's worst part of software. Cause result mess will be something between "suitcase without handle" and "stone on your neck" without any possibility do something about it. Extrapolate what on a civilisation scale...
