“The Post could not independently determine who is behind XFreeze.” Hmmm in three minutes I found a SoundCloud account with a different alias that uses the same email address as this guy, and in another five minutes I had a personal Facebook, phone number, and birthday.

washingtonpost.comElon Musk’s anonymous online BFF spreads his ideas and attacks his enemiesThe Tesla CEO regularly amplifies a fan account called XFreeze that sings his praises and criticizes opponents in his lawsuit against OpenAI.

If you’re going to give these assholes publicity (and this guy is a fucking bigot, not just an Elon freak), you owe it to the world not to protect them from consequences just because you don’t want to bother with getting the name past legal or whatever the fuck.

To be clear, the authors probably know who this person is, but finding and presenting evidence for an identification is much harder than writing about some tweets.

I’m sure they know the name (they mention having a document with a name on it, and I’d be shocked if it’s not the same one). It’s just a hassle to find substantiation, deal with legal review, etc., and they clearly don’t care enough.

Also to be clear, this isn’t an attack on these three journalists, who do good work in conditions that I’m sure are getting increasingly miserable. I just want more investigative reporting and less of this clickbait that gives these grifters more attention without accountability.
