What's sad is that Talarico (from the accounts I've heard) is actually trying to engage black voters in a good faith way (and is apparently having a lot of success doing so). The fan clubs for politicians is just... fucking toxic, man.

There's a cadre in every fandom that's less interested in their Idol / Ideal than they are in scoring wins against *other members of the fandom*... because that's what gets them approval from other members of their cadre.
