The French TTRPG scene is substantial and completely alien to English speaking circles. For all the talk of advancing the art and hobby, shockingly few of my peers know much of anything about JDRs. Or about The Dark Eye and German scene. Let alone anywhere else.

Potentially hot TTRPG take. It's absolutely true we need more RPGs inspired by non European cultures. But we don't need less European RPGs, we need more of those as well. This is especially true of Eastern Europe (where there's few) but it's true of Western Europe. We don't have that currently.

On those "old" games: The Dark Eye and INS/MV both had new editions 10 years ago. INS/MV even released a revised edition of that version since. They're not bygone relics and they're still iconic of their scenes. Do you have a less loaded question? Any particular types of games you're looking for?

Yeah, while the question was a bit of a drive-by snark, I am curious: Do you think these games, or their current gaming cultures, have something new to teach us in 2026? Games, and their game play spaces certainly can evolve, and Lord knows D&D isn't the same as it was a quarter century ago.

Never underestimate what old games and cultures could teach us today, while some discussions seems evergreen you'd be surprised of the amount that either aren't or took a different, less common, direction in different cultures
