it is for me! I've been dual booting to Zorin 18 for a couple of months now after 35 years of Windows, I am now booting Linux most days I boot Windows for gaming only it's not a serious desktop OS anymore by which I mean, Microsoft is not taking it seriously, and therefore neither should we 😌

Ten or 15 years ago I talked with one of the engineers from CERN. He said they were using Linux, with Windows reserved for some special purpose applications. I assume that is still the case. I have no idea which distros they were/are using. home.cern

I use a SteamDeck and dabbled with Ubuntu in high school (2008ish) I would love to switch to Linux but it's way too much work to get a distro to "just work" for 99% of the PC using population. If the answer to any day-to-day issue is to use the terminal it will never catch on.

Present day Ubuntu is a whole different animal than 2008-ish Ubuntu. It's denerdified to the point it works out of the box and the Gnome desktop environment means you can't ruin your set-up by being stupid and tweaking the wrong things. That's why I hate it and run the KDE Plasma version of it. πŸ˜‰

Personally, I don't give a shit. Linux has been my daily driver for about 15 years. If the Windows folks are jumping ship I'm happy to help them make the change, otherwise life goes on, even without marketing.
