As Weizenbaum lays it out here, the whole idea that “intelligence” is measurable and quantifiable is bullshit

There’s a lot of “of course intelligence is measurable, of course brains work like computers, of course sentience spontaneously combusts out of fast calculators” in tech; none of which has evidence behind it. It’s a belief system, proselytized to push plagiarism processors.

Would it be possible to have artificial IQ then? It's very clear what IQ is (a measure of performance at certain types of tests, with score normalised against the human population).

Whenever a specific benchmark is available, that's usually what will be used for sales. Generic benchmarks are used when salesmen want impressive numbers for something they don't know how to sell otherwise.
