11 days into August and 11 watched. Should I just be watching through the RT top 100, skipping ones I've seen? Not sure I'll make it to 100 given the pace and a relatively busy calendar between now and Halloween, but I'll carry on. #100HorrorMoviesIn92Days

Starting to discover that I enjoy horror flicks in which the lines between nightmare and waking life are blurred.

1) Obsession A simple on the surface premise that delivers. Insane for the budget. www.themoviedb.org/movie/133971...

2) Hokum Adam Scott just excels at playing this kind of character, though this is not his typical genre. Overall an enjoyable watch, and while I don’t typically go in for jump scares (it’s not all there is here), the ones found here worked for me. www.themoviedb.org/movie/143007...

3) Malevolent Uninspired entry in the paranormal sub-genre. Predictable, not very scary unless ghost stories really creep you out. Florence Pugh is great, but she can only carry so much. I don't often watch movies w/o checking a rating somewhere. This is why. www.themoviedb.org/movie/481375...

I need good horror recs. It’s my favourite genre but I am such a wimp about watching it rather than reading or listening to it.

Not sure if you have a preferred sub-genre, but I’ve seen some really great ones in recent years. Barbarian. Weapons. Obsession. I’m sure I’ll find more as I get through this.

I really enjoyed Weapons, but Obsession might be a no go because a) I can’t watch horror alone and b) she does not want to watch Obsession with me because it’s a little too close to home for a woman on the Internet.
