We're The Flytrap, a worker-owned, intersectional, and expansive feminist media group. We publish cultural criticism of the feminist variety. We believe a better internet is possible, and our guiding principle is: fuck the algorithm. Now, it's time for our annual subscription drive!

The Flytrap has grown steadily over the past two years. We launched in October '24 with our flagship Tuesday newsletter, featuring worker-owners writing about pop culture, politics, games, books, and much more, through an intersectional + expansive feminist lens.

We're also thrilled to be the home of the Cancel Me Daddy podcast, hosted by worker-owner Katelyn Burns and Flytrap founder emeritus Christine Grimaldi. Paid subs allow us to fund transcriptions for CMD episodes and more!

Thanks to our paid subscribers, we were also able to hire freelance contributors in 2025, expanding the already pretty fucking exciting scope of our coverage.

We partnered w the National Writers Union on a unilateral agreement, because we give a real big fuck about fair pay and workers' rights.

In late 2025, we launched Bitch Media reprints. Most Fridays, we run Bitch classics so they don't get lost in the internet ether.

Thanks to our paid subscribers, we can pay a small honorarium to writers and artists whose work gets to see the light of day again.

In 2026, we added our Ask The Flytrap advice column to our weekly offerings! On Wednesdays, we tackle reader questions about life, love, work, and the general state of global fuckery from a feminist perspective.

We've also recently begun publishing monthly book excerpts from feminist and adjacent writers. We are so passionate about platforming great feminist writing, and art, and getting our community excited about intersectional, expansive feminisms. (And, of course, telling the algorithm to fuck off.)

We've also launched a kick-ass merch store, featuring posters + art from art director rommy torrico, Flytrap fellow Melissa Miller, and worker-owners Katelyn Burns, Nicole Froio, and Andrea Grimes. We're especially proud of our "Fuck the Algorithm" merch.

IMPORTANTLY: the vast majority of our content is totally free to read! Ask The Flytrap and our FlytrapxBitch reprints and other Friday posts are totally un-paywalled. We also publish one free Flytrap Tuesday post each month.
