The release uses AGENTS.md when CLAUDE.md is absent, with Bedrock, Vertex and Foundry still excluded. Teams standardizing repositories next quarter should test instruction precedence and provider coverage before retiring existing files.

agents.mdAGENTS.mdAGENTS.md is a simple, open format for guiding coding agents. Think of it as a README for agents.

Nice to see a spec get adopted across vendors instead of everyone shipping their own flavor of agent config. AGENTS.md actually becoming a standard instead of a suggestion would save a lot of duplicated setup files.
