She’s now officially beyond concerned. She’s, like, concern squared.

Susan Collins is one of the worst examples of a politician who pretends their work serves democracy and takes care of the needs of constituents, but in reality merely consists of protecting her personal position and personal power. Any concern about Russell Vought is just worry about this election

Collins is in a bind here, because during the hearings she failed to secure the empty promises that would later enable her to claim "I am so disappointed, I was assured that....". The dark truth was stated explicitly in the hearings. Her standard strategy for evading responsibility can't be applied.

She’s one of the five worst Republicans in government. Her whole brand is one of vague grandmotherly respectability, she gives Trump very useful cover, always has ‘concerns’, often after the fact, but never lifts a finger to even slow Trump down, and most of the time supports him.

She might have regrets but they’re for show only. Whenever her vote is critical to the Trump agenda, she somehow overcomes her misgivings. She only openly opposes him when her vote doesn’t make any difference
