Love the west pier - used to live across the road. The murmurations of starlings were really quite something when there were what seemed like millions of them living in the wreck. Then there was another plan to get it going again and it was looking promising until some guys in a boat set it on fire

Whoever they were they happened to be protecting the interests of the other pier, which might have lost revenue (and is legendarily run by gangsters) So this is what’s left, and starlings don’t fill the sky any more, and I miss them
