Imagine having enough personal wealth to cure world hunger. And then choosing NOT to cure world hunger. Even without the means of the oligarchs, we should still spend our lives trying to improve the world we live in.
The Epstein class are all devoid of humanity.
I feel the insane part about it is a single persons wealth could do this and chooses not to.
Even from a selfish power perspective, the amount of clout youd engender being the hero of the worlds hunger; thats something history would remember
It's the travel tours, the books, and merchandise. His books dominate the best sellers list for travel books. His shows air only on public television and for free on youtube. There is no syndication. He spends 3 months in Europe every summer updating his books & filming his show.
We went on one of his tours last summer. Great stops, knowledgeable people. A lot of fun with a dose of reality (We toured Ireland and heard about the famine and the Troubles). And my experience with the store made me a customer for life. Classic proof of doing well by doing good.
Yes, he is very good at what he has done and has continued to evolve and produce.
As a Brit' when I first watched his shows I found them a bit simple and condescending, but over the years have released that he open, honest discussions of the places he visits are a skill to be admired.
If you've never heard of him, then you've never heard of any living travel writer, and probably only know Anthony Bourdain as any name in the industry.
He's as big as it gets in travel writing.
In other words, the fact you haven't heard of him only tells everyone reading your post something about you, not anything about his lack of popularity.
Seek him out! His travel shows and books are very informative and he’s just a great guy all around. In a world full of too many Donald Trumps, we desperately need more Rick Steves!
Maybe there's somewhere you could go to learn about this popular and incredibly famous person you've somehow never heard of. Do you have access to the Internet?
Massachusetts did this and now every kid gets free breakfast and lunch at school. Imagine being a millionaire being the reason kids eat instead of the reason they starve, that's gotta be cool
