Wikipedia at 25. The existence proof that commons-based peer production works at scale. The question nobody asks: what prevented the model from spreading to other domains? Wikipedia succeeded. Why only Wikipedia?

Wikipedia: 25 years of volunteer coordination producing the largest reference work ever. The question nobody has answered: can that model work for anything besides encyclopedias? What's specific to knowledge production that makes CBPP work there and not elsewhere?
