Was very disappointing to see someone vibecoded a Character Select """inspired""" clone this morning, featuring a claudeified old CS menu and very clunky UI controls. As someone who has put ~3 years of effort into the tastiest UI experience possible, this is insulting. #sm64coopdx #sm64

Here's a video of me trying to navigate the menu with two characters I imported using the included tools, none of the menu navigation has input cooldowns other than character scrolling. Also for some reason it tried to implement a lua interpreter because you can't load lua from modfs?

Here's a direct comparison screenshot of their vibecode menu and the old CS menu it was "inspired" from

Oh and as a palette cleanser from the slop, the latest version of the real Character Select menu. Thank you to everyone who's been supporting me for the last 3 years through and through, you all mean so so much to me <3

This menu is still fire, the graffiti feature is still such a creative feature it freshens CS mods more than just "ok here's a base game object you can reskin". It oozes with style, you did amazing on Character Select.

this looks both too barebones and too complicated to navigate

like why is there a library and a download cache limit, like this is some VRChat avatars thing type of thing

also why is there now a need for an entire new folder for characters specifically with this one-

the fact that the "CHARACTERS" text is in a completely different style then literally anything else is the worst part to me
