So people want to know the smokefleet story. The hashtag #smkkefleet was created over 10 years ago. Not by me, not by potcard, not by Nissan. There was a guy on Twitter who had @smokefleet, I believe his handle name was Long John slivers

Well I got on Twitter in late 2023. I would delete any followers within the same day. I wasn’t online for followers. I have never been nor do I want a blue check mark. I found potcard quite funny and appreciated what he did. We would converse, we would DM. Potcard adopted the #smokefleet

I went forward in March 2024 and bought the domain name. I talked some trash to people online that I didn’t know. Someone tried to doxx me, they had the right name,but the wrong person. Someone threatened to call his employer. I run my own business, I will not fire myself.

So I reached out on several tweets and DM’s and told them they could come after me, but don’t someone unrelated to this silly online beef fired. While I didn’t necessarily agree with their politics, I did follow some of them. A couple of them have turned out to be great friends.

You don’t have to agree with someone politics to be their friend. People can have differences of opinions and be friends. So come July 2024, there was the assassination attempt on Trump. Some of the people I followed on Twitter were upset it didn’t happen

It made me evaluate who I actually wanted to be in contact with. No matter how much I may dislike a person, I would never call for or celebrate their death. So blue sky started popping, and I used my domain smokefleet.com on it and handed out some subdomains, potcard being one of them

He quickly abused it. Got banned multiple times. I no longer wanted him associated with my domain name. So he bought smokefleet.net Quickly harassed me, created hate list starter packs. Well, I just waited, bided my time. There was little to zero use of #smokefleet on Twitter

Some come November 2025, potcard abandoned smokefleet.net I gave him time to renew it. It went up for auction. I wired and let the price drop to $26 before I bought it. Nobody stole anything. I was just patient. I still was on Twitter as pinkie8675208

Well, come around the first of the year, the Twitter @smokefleet became available (free, abandoned), and I took it. I wanted a place to Aggregate the small businesses that I support, so I started the new website. I do not charge these companies. Running smokefleet.com comes out of my pocket

I do not get a commission. I have spoken to many of them on the phone and they’re great people. Being a small business owner myself, I wanted to give something back to the BBQ community. If you want to hate me for that, it’s your choice. I never stole anything from anyone.
