I love the drumming and drum sound on that album. Duke doesn’t sound nearly as good from that perspective, IMO

I love the drum production on this album too. Sounds very live and I think Phil was as close to nailing his live sound. Though my favourite Genesis album for drum production does happen to be Duke. That snare sound on Behind the Lines. Every hit! 🫠🤩

Having said that I think the best example of Phil’s ultimate drum production is on the track ‘Driving the Last Spike’ from ‘We Can’t Dance’. Such an incredible showcase of all of his styles rolled into one epic track. From snare work, to cymbal work, to toms, hat work and kick. Too good!
