Does anyone know of a way to get notified when the Dock is shown or hidden when "Automatically hide and show the Dock" is enabled? I think this is the last brick I need in order to finalize the performance improvements for Festivitas

Have you looked into the accessibility notification API for this? In theory you might be able to create an AXObserver on the Dock process and register for window-related events. (Assuming no sandbox restrictions)

NSScreen.visibleFrame reflects whether the dock is hidden or shown, so maybe could observe that with KVO or if it doesn’t support KVO, I guess just poll it?
