One of my early memories is the McCarthy crap on tv. Friends got hosed down and bashed during civil rights and anti-war protests. There were govt scandals. John Birch Soc. Rampant racism. Difference now is all the enablers plus guns. And the robber barons that our parents had dealt with.

That's great. I think one of my problems and it might be your point is that very little is intuitive to me. At the same time, I did learn certain rules. Kind of like the situation with the country right now. Knowing them and following them helps to a point but then for some reason they don't apply
