Voting for the 2026 ENNIE Awards is live! I’m one of the candidates to be a judge next year, and I’m asking for your vote! In this thread I’ll explain what that means, why you should vote for me, and where you can read more of my thoughts on tabletop games. vote.ennie-awards.com/vote/2026/ 1/

First, the ENNIES are a “people’s choice” awards show for TTRPGs that has been going for 26 years. They’re hosted at GenCon, and by virtue of their history and cultural awareness they’ve become the most followed award in the space. 2/

A panel of judges is voted in by the public, they spend a year reviewing submissions by publishers, and once they select the nominees for each of the 20+ categories, a public vote determines the winners. Getting nominated is huge, winning is even bigger. 3/

So, if you’re a fan of these games, you probably agree that these awards should reflect your experience, should reflect the diversity of perspectives and preferences in the space. This isn’t always as true as it could be, both in which play cultures are represented and which demographics. 5/

This year, the judges panel had one woman, and no people of color. That’s not reflective of the diversity of the space. This isn’t a slight against the judges- they applied, they were selected, and they have spent the past year putting in a lot of unpaid work for these awards. 6/

But I believe this is a community that can put forward a set of judges that at least come closer to reflecting the critical diversity at the heart of our hobby, and applying to be a judge for the ENNIES next year is one way I can take action to make that happen. 7/
