Post

I never really meant to become an account that reposts more than posts, but it's where I am now. I compose a lot of posts and delete them. Maybe it's because I'm older -- maybe it's because I left a career in online media. I've started thinking I don't need to share my thoughts with the void.

It's foreign to me to feel like this. I've always loved geeking out about things to and worth others -- that's what made tech journalism so exhilarating Forums and early social media were a thrill. Twitter before the fall was full of friends and slow (and fast) conversations But now? I don't know.

I'll think of a dumb joke or cultural observation, or a comment about tech or a game and start composition a post And then I'll stop. "The world doesn't need to hear my thoughts on this," I'll think. The app will close. Maybe I'll text the joke to a friend instead. Maybe I won't.

I don't know if it's an age thing or what but yeah. At some point all the fun went out of it. Well, not all the fun. There's still lots of cool people around but it's no longer something I really focus on.
