- So a while back I wrote a short story. - A friend turned that short story into a script. - That same friend, and a producer, turned that script into a short film. -That short film will premier soon. Is there any way this could help me find publishers for other short stories?

the script credit gives you producer shorthand. "adapted from my story" is a real hook now. pitch it in the query letter.
