Twitter was one of the best things to ever happen to me and I'm never going back.

I want us to make our own network. In the meantime they’re all the same junk including this one. They raised $100 million and the best they could come up with is copying twitter 20 years ago, which hasn’t done anything but lock users in.

I think more is happening in the network. Just not by BlueSky. And I agree that replicating Twitter directly doesn't benefit pulling people away.

the only thing that matters in the ecosystem are the millions of users they've attracted, but the limits of bluesky prevent anything from happening there. i'm watching it too. they have to decide what their business is and get on with it.

It's all so far away from what 99.99% of people seem to care about. That doesn't mean it's not great, but I mention "Bluesky" in technical crowds and they have no idea what I'm talking about. Mention AI, and everyone knows, even non-technical folks

i never understood why it's so great. i've used lots of api's and this one seems far too complex, but now i have claude code and it writes all the complex code for me.

I mean it's great for people that like Bluesky. good for them. I hope they are happy, but I don't have any desire to write/maintain software for 5 people so I pulled the plug on all my projects. That could be my failure but I only have a certain amount of resources even with AI
