As promised, here's a set of 4 pregen characters for use with the free version of A Sliver of Evidence (link to that inside the post). This module is great!

I’ve had a bugbear recently about wanting adventure modules to come with pregen characters, and I'm so pleased this one inspired me to write up an example. Maybe my friends will have to hear me yelling about it less now.

I'm especially interested in discussing with people: - What might adventure modules gain and lose by having pregens? - Do these pregens feel like a good set for this module? If not, what would you want to see instead?

Isn't this already a thing? An awful lot of OSR and actually-old adventures come with brief pre-gens. All Gumshoe adventures come with detailed pre-gens, often with backstories and interconnections. It is good though.

...read a Mothership, Mausritter, Cairn, Mork Borg, etc module that came with pregens, much less pregens who felt like they belonged in the situation the adventure described. If you have examples I'd love to see them!

I've just been reading the Merry Mushmen adventures and each of those comes with I think ten adventurers who can be pre-gens, hirelings or NPCs. I'm sure there are others.

Oh, Free League starter sets and boxes adventures all come with good pre-gens. I particularly enjoyed the ones in the Alien: Destroyer of Worlds scenario because they came with secrets and personal goals.
