I've talked to many folks from companies in the last few months that are unsure about using Unreal in the future, due to the sudden Unreal changes of forcefully moving to AI only workflows, especially with the fear of Blueprint removal. This news will not help assuage those fears.

Of course. The change of pipeline isn’t just technical, it’s knowledge being lost as well. This carries time, effort, and hiring issues with it. But does that short term loss of knowledge weigh off to positive long term retainment of knowledge? That’s the calculation many are making.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall at CDPR right about now 😬 There are some HUGE license holders who depend on blueprints. Can't believe epic is losing the plot on the best licenseable engine in the industry this hard, this fast 🤦

The key, as with so many things, is choice. Will some companies want to have the choice to try and use AI workflows? Yes. Do companies like being forced to move to AI workflows, and thus deprecate Blueprint? Not so much.

There is also an aspect of suddenness here. Similar to when Unity suddenly pushed for per-install fees. The fees were bad, the suddenness was killer. When you plan projects for 5+ years, which is a basic AAA timeline, then you cannot risk that suddenness on your engine. It's killer.
