in Finland where the automated tickets are scaled to your income--one rich guy got dinged for 121,000 euros--they also do not like getting traffic citations in the mail, SO THEY DO NOT SPEED

every speed camera has a big ass sign before and next to it, and they're punched into Google maps. they do not want you paying that ticket, they want you driving in a safe and sensible manner

In the US, is Google Maps always quickly updated to changes in speed limits? It isn't in the UK. I think Waze is better, but I wouldn't rely on either. None of this contradicts your correct main point obvs.

In the UK they are all painted bright yellow (the point I think being they are supposed to disincentivise speeding on the spot rather than in retrospect) but don't actually say SPEED CAMERA on them.

They're preceded by this sign though aren't they (and sometimes it says "speed camera" I think)?
