At the risk of sounding super condescending... Staff Engineering is just constantly dodging over-complication. So you end up feeling a bit dumb because you just end up saying things that feel *incredibly* obvious.

This actually matches with things I've been told from long-term seniors in every technical field though. As you get more experienced, you end up relying more and more on fundamentals.

There's accuracy in the bell curve meme. But you gotta actually do the work and get over that hump. The difference between novice and master mostly isn't in what they write, but why.
