The June, 2026 Emacs Carnival is "Underapprecated Emacs Built-ins." There are about two million lines of code in the core Emacs repo. Send me your favorite hidden treasure. If you're unsure where to look, see some ideas in the post. https://rossabaker.com/blog/underappreciated-emacs-built-ins/ […]

Love the responses, and I'm happily including them all, but this is traditionally a blog carnival. Don't be shy about knocking the dust off your blog or starting a new one!

Reminder that the June Emacs Carnival on "Underapprecated Emacs Built-ins" is winding down. I'll accept submissions through June Anywhere on Earth. And since it's for fun and education, probably even after that, but get them in! Wrap-up coming tomorrow.

Hi @ross! I don't see my submission there, it was: https://www.matem.unam.mx/~omar/apropos-emacs.html#underappreciated-emacs-built-ins

@oantolin Argh. I remember reading and enjoying it. Fixing right now!

@oantolin Republished. I found your measure of underappreciation to be one of the most compelling points raised all month. Sorry again for my scatterbrain.
