Artemis II was overshadowed by other bad things in the news but what it accomplished was frankly amazing. We are capable of incredible and unprecedented things. I’m in awe at how far we safely sent humans into space.

NASA’s greatest achievement here may be not being assimilated into the Trump Borg and sold off for parts. They maintained that can-do attitude and quiet competence. They’re engineers and problem solvers. They did the hard work and got the hard job done. Like the NASA of old. Well done everyone.

Except the part where trump’s billionaire maga nasa administrator is onboard with the massive cuts to the science budget next year. He’s also big on public/private “partnerships” which we all know means privatization. I don’t trust him at all.

I’m aware. What I’m saying is that in spite of all that, they worked the problem and pulled off a near flawless mission and ignited the public interest again. People crave competence and pride in achievement. It’s harder to tear down the things your kids love. We may all be doomed, but not yet.

I agree completely. I’m a life long space/nasa/apollo fan and this definitely reignited that passion. I was glued to the screen.
