Finalmente!!!!

What's BS about it?

And Trump has done it twice! But he was only able to do that bc his predecessor, in each case, left people economically battered and the electorate disinterested and full of doubt. For instance, Trump would not be President if Biden hadnt buried twice as many of us to covid as Trump.

I agree that Dems have not done enough and that has led to the rotation of parties in power. They definitely need to do more. Imo, that needs to start with dealing with Citizens United. Big money has too much power which leads to our representatives betraying us to please them.

Johnson's war on poverty was much different

“Waging war” isn’t really correct. He is subjugating them, forcing them to go along with his loyalty pledges if they want to eat or have health care.

Delacroix is whirling in his grave.

I’m wondering if anyone in America recognizes this is the pattern of every GOP administration since 1968? In fairness every conservative government around the globe since then. I know the good, learned, professor has retired now but surely he knows he’s stating the obvious here?

Please Gov. Newsome deploy CHP to protect and serve. If a California resident is being detained by people who won’t id themselves and don’t have probable cause, then that person is being kidnapped. Please have local law enforcement arrest these kidnappers.

Krugman's Substack is terrific.
