Powerful post. I've built using WP as a freelance dev 4 many years, but never got involved in the community. Never fancied putting a plugin into the wordpress.org repo, so I guess I avoided any drama. Sorry to see you go though, I had a look through your site (and your DB plugin) & it's quality!
