I have mixed feelings about this, forums are great for async searchable interactions, but sometimes you look for something a bit less formal.

It's one of the few forums that I use. Most other dev communities are on discord, which leads to a lot of noise. I have to spend time muting and configuring each server and I often miss out on conversations. With the forum I am able to keep up with everything.

And in the forum we are not like StackOverflow and shut your question down as duplicate, we try to hold a discussion regardless. At some point it will probably be inevitable to open up some form of chat, but until then we cherish our good ol' board.

I think that’s valid. One problem a lot of communities do on discord is have too many channels so it feels dead. They also have that forum esc channel now but I agree it doesn’t feel as searchable. Honestly the ReScript forum has been great so no real complaints!

I support your decision. Anything worth sharing should be in async media (either in forum or docs). If people just want to socialize, that can be done anywhere.

I miss forums like yours ( and elixirforum.com )- seems like literally everything is in a Discord.
