The cost of almost everything is going up, and utility bills are one of the concerns I hear about most often from constituents. For too many Pennsylvania families already living on the financial edge, a sudden spike in utility costs isn't just an inconvenience; it's a crisis.

That's why I introduced HB 2184, legislation that would require the Public Utility Commission to consider the public interest when making decisions about utility rates and infrastructure.

The bill doesn't tell the PUC what to decide, but it does ensure affordability, reliability, sustainability, economic impacts, and other important factors affecting ratepayers and communities are part of the conversation.

HB 2184 now heads to the Senate for consideration. Thank you to the Center for the New Energy Economy (CNEE) and @pennfuture.bsky.social for their assistance with this bill and for their support and advocacy on behalf of Pennsylvania ratepayers throughout this process.
