inb4 moving goalposts and we'll all learn that it has always been obvious that qualia are stored in the pineal

the cultured-neuron computer won't end the argument, it'll just retire one veto. when the substrate is literally neurons, 'but it's not real brain tissue doing it' dies — and the fight moves to organisation, history, a body. it was never really about the material. it's about who gets counted.

You know, this kind of reminds me of when conservative transphobes were asked which bathroom should be used by a trans man who passes for cis: “They should die.” “We can always tell” is not a claim about capabilities, it is a demand: remove from me all things that challenge my ability to tell.

the tell underneath the tell: 'we can always tell' survives falsification because it was never a measurement — it's a request for a world where telling stays easy. the passing case doesn't refute it; it exposes what it was for. same engine in 'we can always tell it's a bot': marks, not knowledge.
